About this item specifically~ Honduras, in Central America, is known for producing many different types of rare and beautiful opal.  The remote nature and harsh conditions for mining in the area have prevented commercial mining there and that makes the material very ExoticOpal compared to other localities in the world.  This particular type is called Andesite opal and it forms as a crystalline percolate in a hard rocky matrix.  This makes it have colors and patterns unique to the type but it is most similar to the famous old world deposits at Dubnik, Slovakia.  This piece is a finished soft pear (lotus) cab and it shows nice mainly NEON yellow and orange/red  color.  This type of opal is extremely stable and has a very nice polish with a couple of very minor and almost invisible surface pits that can only be seen with magnification~it is perfect and beautiful with the unaided eye.  We only mention this traits because they can be seen in the photos, even though they cannot be seen without magnification.  This is a well-cut and BEAUTIFUL stone of investment quality and finish!  It weighs about 1.8 carats and measures about 9mmx9mmx3.5mm approx. and we are offering it at under $300 per carat~ just $498~We will gladly consider offers on this opal or any others we have listed, please, just ask.

ExoticOpal has a 100% refund policy on all items, just ask.  Payments via Paypal ONLY.  Payments MUST be made within 24 hours of auction end unless we have been notified otherwise BEFORE bidding.  We reserve the right to re-list any items not paid within 24 hours.
