This is a opal doublet made from a Coober Pedy crystal shell fossil and mounted on to natural boulder ironstone.You can make out the shell appearance of the high dome and undulating side .Millions of years ago Australias out back was covered in a inland sea.These stones are a part of the skin of a shell fossil that was opalized .The shell is from the cretaceous period over 100 million years ago.The stones follows the contours of the shell so they are undulating.Showing strong pastel colours.
