Prime example of a Chocolate Opal, from Shewa province in Ethiopia. The best part about this Opal is the fact that it's dual sided, with good color on both sides. This Opal has some minor crazing, which most larger Shewa pieces are guilty of. But it's a great piece.
I took pictures of this Opal in high magnification and full sunlight to give you the best idea of its color play and quality. As a certified gemologist I can verify that the above description is accurate and that this Opal/Opals have been tested in the gem lab to verify identity and natural origin.
