Scam Alert

Attention members:

Scammers have been targeting a small number of Opal Auctions members by purporting to be sellers and seeking to trick buyers into making fake purchases via email. For your own safety, NEVER conduct purchases with anyone claiming to be from any of our auction network sites via email.

Sellers are strictly prohibited from seeking to sell items to members outside of this website.

Some general security best practices include:

• Never share your password with anyone. We will never ask you for your password.
• Use passwords that are a combination of numbers and letters
• Keep your antivirus and anti-spyware software up to date on your computer
• Always use the internal messaging system to ensure that you are dealing with the real seller 
• Do not send private information or make purchases via email

For the record these approaches have been pure phishing scams; at no time has your account information been compromised.

If you do receive any suspicous communication from anyone claiming to be part of our auction network, please advise us using the contact us page.
