You may notice when you login, you can now have Opal Auctions remember you.
Basically, we place a cookie on your computer that we can detect next time you visit. The cookie is valid for 2 weeks as a security precaution, so you will have to enter your password once every couple of weeks. The cookie does not contain any information that would personally identify you, nor does it contain your account username or password.
You will have to have your internet browser configured to accept cookies from Opal Auctions. It is also adviseable to ensure your browser is updated to the latest version, and that you regularly perform scans to ensure your computer is clean of infections. Essentially, we have taken every precaution we can to make the transfer of cookies secure from our secure server to your computer, however you must ensure your own computer is in good order to completely eliminate the unlikely event of someone using your account.
If you share your computer or use a public computer, is it highly recommended to not tick the remember me box.
If in doubt, you can simply not check the remember me button when logging in, and you can continue to enter your password every visit.
Remember that to place a bid or change your account settings, your account password is required so please always use a difficult to guess password and do not share it with anyone else.
To remove all cookies from Opal Auctions on your computer, simply use the logout button.
