Description
A fine example of Brazilian opal from the Pedro Segundo area in North East Brazil.
Clean and clear, this crystal opal is filled with floating fire. The camera picks up the larger sections, but to the eye, the piece is filled with very fine pinfire, as well as the larger flakes more apparent in the picture. The super-fine pinfire is more apparent on one side and the larger flake fire is stronger on the other side.
The opal is cut in a freeform pear shape, and is polished suitably for mounting on both sides, increasing the options for jewelry design.
Cut and polished in Brazil to traditionally high standards of the region, this provides the miners with a better return for their hard work.
