This is a rare and fine gem from Brazilian material. This will turn her head and light up her smile when you show her this beautiful opal.

A freeform cut follows the natural form of the internal color structure to best display the pattern in its entirety. The color display is flagstone, large solid blocks of color. One of the flags of color covers over 50% of the opal face, large enough to consider it also as a broadflash pattern.

The primary color is green, shading into tealish blue and a limey yellow at extreme angles. There is also a pinfire red color spread throughout the opal. Blue and yellow and other shades secondary to the main broadflash pattern also show in profusion.

The colors are very bright and flashy, with the brightness typical of Brazilian opal, almost like a neon flash on a dark night. I cut this piece of opal 34 years ago and it has been in my personal collection, prized as a stunning example of Brazilian opal fire.

1.95 carats, it measures 7 mm x 15 mm x 3 mm

With a buff top and beveled back, it is cut for safe and easy setting in any design.

The pictures do not begin to capture the intensity of the fire or the bright and lively dance of colors. Brightness is at the top of the scale, a good example of the beauty of the Brazilian opal.
