I purchased a retired miners collection and one bag contained parcel of black opal shells that Bill mined in the late 1980s

It is rare to find black opal formed as shells from lightning ridge Australia

i actually cut one shell from this parcel and the opal was brilliant and sold for good top price

but i think iti is shame to cut n polish black opal shells.

so i have offered this black opal shell at reduced price as a specimen
