This is a piece of rough from Boulder country in Queensland.On the field it is called fairy opal as the are flecks of colour in the rock.This material is treated by heating,There is no acid used as on matrix from andamooka and the treatment is permanite.There is a beautiful display of colours of BLUE GREEN ORANGE RED .This is a rough piece we have taken wet ot give you a idea of how it will look finished.
