This is precious opal rough from the Welo region of Ethiopia.

Super Bright Multicolor clean solid rough, selected for cutting. The fire is red and lots of it. Other colors are there too but it is mainly a red geometric harlequin type display.

This piece will cut a very valuable gem of top quality.

This rough is solid and clean and very cuttable. There are no serious cracks or crazing in this opal.

It is hydrophane.
