Description
Lightning Ridge Dark Crystal Opal filled with large flake fire pattern.
Pattern:
The flakes are large and overlap within the body of the opal, producing a flagstone-like display. Many of the flakes are large enough themselves to show a flagstone effect within the individual flake structure.
Color:
Electric blue, glowing with ultra violet sheen cycles thru cobalt and teal into a forest green within each flake as the opal is tilted or moved. Daylight favors the blue display, while incandescent and candlelight enhance the green spectrum.
Size:
1.57 carats, this opal measures 10 mm x 16 mm x 2 mm
Description:
Pleasing freeform pear shape, low dome with a well polished face.
The bright dancing flakes of fire in this opal display well from all angles making this opal well suited to a ring or pendant setting.
