EHTIOPIAN OPAL SPECIMEN
RECENTLY A FRIEND OF MINE RETURNED FROM ETHIOPIA WITH A LARGE PARCEL OF ROUGH OPALS WHICH HE ALLOWED ME TO HAVE THE FIRST PICK.THIS MATERIAL IS VOLCANIC IN ORIGIN AND IT IS SUITABLE AS A SPECIMEN ONLY . SOME PEOPLE TRY TO STABILIZE THE MATERIAL BUT WE HAVENT.WE HAVE RUBBED THE SPECIMEN BACK TO EXPOSE THE COLOUR BAR.
I HAVE SOME STONES I CUT IN 2004 WHICH ARE STILL IN GOOD CONDITON.
