Please note that we employ photography techniques that emphasize the beauty of the stones and that many microscopic elements NOT visible to the naked eye will sometimes show in the photographs...please disregard any lint, black gemcup fibers, dust, etc. that you may see in the photos.  We will always disclose any noticeable or consequential flaws or imperfections in our listings.  These unique characteristics add to the provenance of the stones and ensure your investment is in quality, 100% natural and untreated opal. This item has been photographed using  a variety of lighting sources and background materials to show the various appearances of the stone based on lighting conditions but the photos have NOT been edited or modified except for cropping (cutting to size). There will be variances in the temperature and color of lighting and/or background color/texture to best represent the item in differing settings. We have recently opened the vault to release a few surplus pieces of FINE QUALITY OPAL from our personal collection.  This stone is one of a bevy of SUPERGEM crystal Mexican opals from the famed Queretaro mines and many from the bench of the greatest Mexican opal cutter, Alvaro Cuellar.  These are all VERY high end Mexican opals and they are of a quality unseen on the market today.  We are offering a few super collector pieces over the next few weeks from our vaults that are among the highest quality examples of their species in existence and this is your chance to quench your "opalholic" thirst for these rare pieces. Mexican opals are cut from a hard rhyolitic deposit and are one of the most time consuming and labor intensive opals to cut.  These are a very special bunch of crystal clear (unless noted otherwise) TRUE PRECIOUS and Contra-Luz(lighting in the side or rear) colorplay in all lighting and from all angles.  These are truly a sight to behold and this is your opportunity to invest in opal you will be proud to own and even prouder (sic) to show off!

This is a nice TOP gem quality precious Mexican crystal opal.  It is ablaze with medium-high intensity "face-up" color and has nice NEON INTENSE PINK AND GREEN plus multicolor RAINBOW fire when lit from the side or back (contra-luz).  The base material is crystal clear without flaws.  It is a very well-finished oval cabochon piece that will show bright multicolor fire in most lighting.  It weighs about 1.3 ct and measures 9mmx6.5mmx4mm approx.  We are proud to offer it at just $1 start with NO RESERVE~HURRY~
