About this item specifically~
This is one of the finest quality precious fire opals ExoticOpal have offered for sale here on OpalAuctions. It has an intensity of base color, clarity, color play, pattern and form that make it in a class by itself. This opal has a crystal glassy clear base with intense neon orange coloration that makes it the truest form of "fire" opal from the famous Magdalena locality in Mexico. This gem has been in our personal collection for years and is of a quality rarely offered for sale anywhere and no longer being found in the few minimally active mines. Stones of this quality and size are truly one in a million. It shows intense rays of rainbow colorplay that radiate from end to end of the opal and they cross each other in the middle of the stone. From every angle and in even the lowest light, this opal presents a colorshow that is impossible to ignore. It is the quality of gem that will be the pride of any collector as well as a wonderful investment. The photos and video show the remarkable look of this rare opal. It was mined and cut years ago and is perfectly stable with no treatments or other adulterations. The gem weighs about 1.28 carats and measures about 9.6mm x 5.7mm x 3.2mm aprx. This item has been photographed using a variety of lighting sources and background materials to show the various appearances of the stone based on lighting conditions but the photos have NOT been edited or modified except for cropping (cutting to size). There will be variances in the temperature and color of lighting and/or background color/texture to best represent the item in differing settings. Please note that these variations in the photos are NOT from editing the photos to change their appearance (they have not been"pumped") but are from lighting and background changes only.
