Description

PYGMY POSSUMS Gem Opal 18 cm x 18 cm This species is classified as (endangered).  Prior to 1966, the mountain pygmy possum was only known through fossil records and was thought to be extinct.  It is known to currently exist in Victoria and New South Wales, Australia.  The tail of a mountain pygmy possum is considerably longer than the body, measuring an average 140mm, while the average head and body measures 110mm.  Mountain pygmy possums eat seed, insects and fruit.  The winter hibernation is broken to allow for periods of feeding. Jenadors Pygmy Possums are part of a collection of twelve Australiana Wildlife designs. The design of an image is etched into 5mm thick black glass.  The etching is embedded with opal that has been selected and cut for its brilliance and lustre.  The finished piece is then framed and when mounted on a wall or perhaps a bench top with lighting directed on it, the image comes to life!  A truly beautiful spectacular masterpiece. Jenador exhibits her art around the world, her works are investment collector pieces and are sold with a Certificate of Appraisal.  To view online DVD please visit www.gemopalart.com This piece was completed in four days and measures 18 cm x 18 cm framed.
