Description

LAKE MULWALA 26 inches x 10 inches66cm x 26cm Lake Mulwala is situated on the border of New South Wales and Victoria, Australia. It's storage capacity is 118 gigalitres and it's size is 4,450 hectares.  In 1937 the first suggestions were made concerning the clearing of the red gum forest to be submerged in the creation of Lake Mulwala.  The River Murray Commission refused to undertake the tree clearing program proposed by the citizens of Yarrawonga-Mulwala, who obviously had a vision of not just an irrigation storage, but a picturesque lake.  The lake has been drained 13 times over the years to varying extents, to allow for maintenance of the weir structure, the latest draining took place between May and August 2002. The design of this picture was created when the lake was empty in 2002.  The opal appears to give life to the now lifeless trees.  The reflections of the puddles of water mirrors the sky with the ever changing mood of the lake.Completion time six weeks. Jenadors Lake Mulwala comes alive with the intensity and sparkle of gem opal. The design of an image is etched into 5mm thick black glass.  The etching is embedded with opal that has been selected and cut for its brilliance and luster.  The finished piece is then framed and when mounted on a wall or perhaps a bench top with lighting directed on it, the image comes to life!  A truly beautiful, spectacular masterpiece.Jenador exhibits her art around the world, her works are investment, collector pieces and are sold with a Certificate of Appraisal.  To view online DVD please visit www.gemopalart.com
