Hyalite is a form of opal with a glassy and clear appearance which may exhibit internal play of colors and has natural inclusions. It is also called Muller's glass, water opal and jalite. It is an amorphous form of silica (SiO2), has a conchoidal fracture, a vitreous luster and a white streak. it usually forms botryoidal masses (resembling a bunch of grapes) to stalactitic projections of transparent, clear to light yellow, green or blue glass-like masses, as well as other unusual forms. Hyalite generally has a high flourescent index, it is a colorless crystal that glows green under ultra violet light.
