This is  opal that is in the sandstone found on the boulder opal fields in Queensland.It has been treated but  NOT  with acid as matrix from Andamooka is.This  stone has been soaked in sugar and heated.The secret is in the polishing as this stone has a top professional glossy finish.The treatment is permant and you can re cut the stone as it is colour is all through the stone.
