Welo Top Grade Cutters

4.3 carats, this piece is 21 mm x 11 mm x 5 mm.

A bright dazzler if ever there was one. Broadflash color structure has formed as two large interlocking plates of color, each forming its own broadflash flagstone. The color rolls across the broad plain of the color cell in both of the sections.

This would be an absolutely stunning piece if cut whole and set as a ring or pendant. The dynamic nature of the color play would suit a ring very well. As a pendant, it would be a real eye-catcher. Another choice would be to split it for a pair of top gem earring stones.

Welo opal has hydrophane properties and will absorb water. Wetting it will cause it to gain weight and will affect both the body tone and color display. This rough has not been watered for weight or extra brightness, No treatments of any kind. Pictures are all taken dry, mostly in sunshine or bright overcast. It's been a rainy summer.
