Description
Welo Top Grade Cutters
14.42 carats, measuring 16.5 mm x 17 mm x 13 mm
This piece is part of a very special parcel of top grade brightness, rare body tone and highly geometric patterns of opal rough. All of this group are grades above most of what is offered on the internet anywhere today.
This piece is white crystal, slightly tan, an N8 body tone. The colors are strong and full spectrum. The body tone shows the play of color very well. This is large enough to cut a pair or more as a matched set, or to go freeform to get the highest yield. Whatever your approach, the end results will be a beautiful single or set of opal gems.
Welo opal has hydrophane properties and will absorb water. Wetting it will cause it to gain weight and will affect both the body tone and color display. This rough has not been watered for weight or extra brightness, No treatments of any kind. Pictures are all taken dry, mostly in sunshine or bright overcast. It's been a rainy summer.
