Here is a huge chunky brilliant gemstone, an opal full of wide sheets of RED, green and the rest of the rainbow milling around, trying to get some of the attention that the red flash steals.

A brilliant rainbow display, as seen in the photos. Photos are taken indoors with a small desk lamp and camera on a tungsten setting for correct color representation. We have seldom seen sunshine this year. Some of the pictures have a strand of black lint showing. This is not in the stone! This opal is clear and clean and full of bright fire.

This high domed cabachon cut in a pear shape shows the colors very well. The color play is very lively and mostly red to red orange. Stronger light shows the green and yellow components better and the whole thing comes alive in sunlight.

This piece is well cut with a pleasing shape and a low girdle, allowing most of the opal to show in a bezel setting. Back is flat with a beveled edge for happy jewelers. The surface is a mirror finish and body tone is N8, just slightly cream colored.
