This opal is from the Welo desert area of Ethiopia, home of the most exciting new find in opals in this century.

The opal is an oval cut, 9 mm x 13.5 mm x 4.5 mm. This is a high dome cabachon cut opal blazing with every color in the rainbow.

Over two and a half carats of fiery beauty is captured in this stunning opal.

Primarily red and orange in the play of color, it glows like a burning ember in a blazing crystal fire. Closer inspection from all angles reveals a varied display of primary colors: yellow, blue and green, in profusion.

Like much of Ethiopian gem grade opal, this stone is hydrophane and should not be regularly immersed in water.

This is a beautiful and colorful opal which shows well in every direction, a full color display from every angle. This opal, of course, will look much better in your hand than in these pictures.
