THIS IS A UNIQUE SOLID NATURAL OPAL DOUBLET FROM THE FAMOUS LIGHTNING RIDGE OPAL MINES IN AUSTRALIA.� IT WAS JUST MINED FROM AN OLD MINE THAT WAS CLOSED YEARS AGO. MY NEPHEW TOOK OUT THE PILLARS THAT WERE SUPPORTING THE ROOF OF THE MINE TO GET THIS OPAL. THE PILLARS ARE APPROX 3 FOOT WIDE SO WHEN THE EARTH WAS TAKEN OUT IT MADE A BALLROOM UNDERGROUND. IT WAS A DANGEROUS AND RISKY JOB JUST TO GET TO THE OPALS. THE QUALITY OF THE OPALS ARE FANTASTIC, AND THEREFORE, WORTH THE RISK.� WEIGHS�1.25 CTS AND IS 1.5 MM THICK.
