About this item specifically~

 This is a beautiful and rare faceted crystal opal from the home of the world-famous black opal, Lightning Ridge, Australia.  This type of material is rarely seen in the market and has always been a highly coveted collector jelly opal~especially in a stone of this size and quality.  It is called a "sunflash" opal because in bright sunlight, you can see beautiful mild flashes of color dancing around inside the opal.  These are very rare with multicolor fire and normally only show a limited palette but this particular piece is blessed with a diverse color set and red is the most prominent.  The base material is also unusually clear and has a nice uniformity of medium amber color and none of the silk usually common in these stones.  This one is also well-cut and polished in Australia to nice proportions and has vvs+ clarity with one minor that can be seen without magnification on one side.  I would be a great piece for any collector but it is also great for setting into a valuable and unique ring.  It weighs about 5.21 carats and measures about 13mm diameter and 8 mm deep so it is calibrated to fit a ready-made and quick, inexpensive setting.  ExoticOpal is happy to offer this important piece for under $200 per carat~ just $988
