About this item specifically~
Sometimes in Coober Pedy, Australia, there are found layers of opal in thte strata on top of layers of crystallized gypsum. This particular piece is a great collectible gem grade specimen for any avid opal collector. The opal in the piece is clear crystal with very bright color throughout and the entire stone runs in the same layers from side to side. This is a really nice piece of material showing this unique character and although it could probably be cut, it has far more value as a collection specimen. It weighs about 103 carats and measures about 41mmx18mmx22mm approx. We are offering this unusually nice piece for just $388~
