| Item Type: | SOLID BOULDER OPALHAND CARVED CABOCHON SCARAB. SCARAB ( Art Form Carving) Scarabs, known to ancient Egypt as symbol of life, hope and regeneration. It is believed that everything vibrates with living magic, the actions of sacred birds, animals reveal the will of the gods and goddesses. Scarabs are insects revered by ancient Egyptians as symbol of the resurrection and enduring human soul. Scarabs are associated with the Egyptian morning sun god, Khepri, the creator-god, representing sun from sunrise to sunset. Scarabs were identified with the Sun in the Egyptian religion because they flew during the hottest part of the day. Scarabs carved into Gems were worn on the breastplate for protection. Scarabs also symbolise reaction and tansformation. |
