THIS OPALS WAS MINED FROM AN OLD MINE THAT WAS CLOSED YEARS AGO. MY NEPHEW TOOK OUT THE PILLARS THAT WERE SUPPORTING THE ROOF OF THE MINE TO GET THIS OPAL. THE PILLARS ARE APPROXIMATELY 3 FOOT WIDE SO WHEN THE EARTH WAS TAKEN OUT IT MADE A BALLROOM UNDERGROUND. IT WAS A DANGEROUS AND RISKY JOB JUST TO GET THE OPALS. BUT THE QUALITY OF THE OPALS ARE GOOD, THEREFORE, WORTH THE RISK.
