Hi,I received the opal today.There is a big piece missing out of the back of the opal.This was not mentioned in the add.Does it affect the opal having a chunk missing? I am going to ask further advice on monday,if I am not happy can I return it?Thanks.Barbara

hi it has no effect at all, black opal is the strongest opal, and in this opals case it will have no damaging effects on the future of the opal. kind regards BMO team

Hi If you are not happy with the item, yes you can return for a refund or a store credit. However, the 'hole' in the back is probably due to sandstone being drilled out as it would affect the colour of the opal. This is a typical procedure when cutting opal. It does not affect the quality, or strength of the opal itself. Please don't hesistate to ask any further questions. Regards Daniel
