Black Crystal opal from Lightning Ridge material. This opal is dark crystal with blue and green fire shining brightly.

Large flakes of fire fit together in a flagstone pattern. Strong blue and green of all shades color the flags with a metallic sheen, making them very bright, a good 4.5.

1.03 carats, a large face size for this weight at 5.5 mm x 8.5 mm and two mm thick.
